A&R EXEC SCOUTS PITTSBURGH ARTISTS/BANDS Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version

Seeking MusiciansA&R Exec Pete Ganbarg Launches National Artist Search For
Newly Formed Production Company/Label, Pure Tone Music

Showcase to be held in Pittsburgh on March 10th @ Club Cafe –
    submission deadline, February 24th

New York, NY – February 4, 2004- Former Epic/Sony Sr. VP/A&R and 15 year industry veteran, Pete Ganbarg is launching a national search for artists to sign to his Pure Tone production company and record label.

Beginning March 1st in Minneapolis, and hitting markets such as: Boston, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Boston, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Detroit, Washington, DC, Baltimore, and Hartford, Ganbarg will hold daytime showcases in each city for 10-12 artists carefully chosen from all who’ve submitted demos. The ultimate goal will be to find a few select artists, in all genres, who’ll become the cornerstones of Pure Tone Music’s roster.

"This is not a contest, but a quest to find the best undiscovered talent out there, regardless of genre," says Ganbarg. "With the formation of Pure Tone, we are not bound by any corporate mandate to find the hottest selling act or trend-driven buzz band in each market. We’re looking to get back-to-basics with an old-fashioned, artist development-friendly attitude," he adds. "We want to reach the local artist community, rather than the local industry, to find the best undiscovered and most talented singers, musicians, and bands out there."

All unsigned artists interested in performing at one of the showcases are invited to submit 2-3 songs as well as a photo/visual and brief bio/description no later than February 22nd, 2004. Acts chosen to showcase will be notified via phone and/or email prior to the showcase date in each market. All styles of music are welcome.

Interested artists can submit demos two ways: Electronically through Pure Tone’s web site (www.puretonemusic.com), or by regular mail:

    Pure Tone Music
    700-76 Broadway #348
    Westwood, NJ 07675

Ganbarg has been a senior major label A&R executive for over fifteen years at labels such as Epic/Sony, Arista, and EMI/SBK. He has signed and/or A&R’d artists including Santana, Run-DMC, Adema, Blessid Union Of Souls, Revis, Rappin’ 4-Tay, Shannon Curfman, Darrell Scott, Barrio Boyz, Black 47, Little Sister/Sister 7, Nona Gaye and Keb’ Mo’.

His projects have collectively sold over 40 million records worldwide.

For further information on submitting demos or FAQ about Pure Tone Music, visit www.puretonemusic.com.

    Showcase schedule is as follows:

    March 1 Minneapolis, MN O’Garas
March 2 Detroit, MI Emerald Theater
March 3 Cleveland, OH Grog Shop
March 4 Cincinnati, OH Madison Theater (Covington)
March 8 Boston, MA The Paradise Lounge
March 9 Hartford, CT Cargo’s Café (Windsor Locks)
March 10 Pittsburgh, PA Club Cafe
March 11 Philadelphia, PA Grape Street Pub
March 15 Baltimore, MD The Funk Box
March 16 Washington, DC Omega Studios

Buffalo Band Seeks Gig-Swap Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version
    Monday, December 15 2003 @ 02:16 PM EST
    Contributed by: theoracy

Mad GabHello my name is Brennan. I play in an all original band from Buffalo NY. In an effort to expand our fan base we are planning on playing more out of state shows and touring this coming spring. We are more than willing to gig swap with bands that have the same vision, or for bands that would just like to play in Buffalo. There are plenty of clubs to play here in Buffalo and our following is growing; but how far can you really get playing your home city and surrounding cities over and over again. Please contact us at (theoracymusic@yahoo.com) if you are interested, or visit (www.theoracy.com).
